Lydia was a woman that was unafraid to seek the truth.
She wasn’t shy about worshiping God.
She knew she didn’t know everything there was to know, and was hungry to hear more.
She put herself in places where the truth could be heard.
One day, far from home, she went to a gathering of women outside the city gates. There, with the sound of a nearby river playing in the background, Lydia heard the message of Jesus. She listened intently as Paul spoke the truth of the gospel.
And God opened up her heart.
Lydia responded in faith. Without hesitation she identified herself with Christ. Then, this hungering, hardworking woman of God, grabbed that truth tight in both hands, and brought it back to her home - and shared it with her household, who then believed. (Acts 16:11-15)
May we be women who are unafraid to seek
May we be women who aren’t shy about whom we worship.
May we be women who hear the truth, respond with open hearts, grab Jesus close, and bring Him home with us to meet our families.
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart. ‘I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord...” Jeremiah 29:12-14
